Speed Playing

This program is available via In Studio Lessons and Live Online Lessons.
Some material is available via MyMusicCollege.com. It is not a full
program, however, only an introduction to speed playing.

Program Goals: To improve your technical playing in the areas of
speed playing, sweep playing, rhythm skills and overall musicianship.

This is an open ended program with set goals. Once the goals are
reached in each area, the program is complete. I review the goals
with each student and will make adjustments to them as necessary to
meet their needs.

All aspects on technical speed playing are addressed. The most important
of which is playing technical pieces or phrases musically. There really
is not reason to play fast if it doesn't sound like music. The faster you
play, the more notes you play - obvious. What guitarist usually don't
think about is that the more notes you play, the harder it is to keep it

fresh and sounding good. No one wants to hear hundreds of notes that all sound the same and don't say anything musically. In order to keep this from happening,
this program addresses the mechanical elements required to play fast and also has a heavy emphasis on rhythm, theory, improvisation and as much ensemble
